About Me

I was born 17 years ago in Aurora, Colorado. After living there happily for the formative years of my life, my family moved to the Philadelphia area after my father took a job there. I have lived in the New Jersey suburbs right outside of the city for nearly a decade, and I have been homeschooled for about seven years. My family pursued homeschooling to open doors for my siblings and me, and homeschooling has given me flexibility and opportunity to pursue my passions. Though it has been a difficult road full of pain and struggle at times, I have used my love for learning and medicine to seek out my own ways to grow in experience.

I love travel. Whether down the road, through the city, or across nations and oceans, the opportunity to live and work alongside other people with unique backgrounds and moving stories has given me a little bit of insight to just how small I am in the world. Though I have been humbled by my interaction with others, working in my community, my city (as I've come to know Philly), across the United States, and in both Honduras and El Salvador has taught me the power of individuals who want to make a difference.

As an EMT, I've been able to open many doors. I've had to fight and assert myself at times to join teams of much older healthcare professionals, but in the end I learned to never give up and never stop pursuing a chance to learn. My medical work has only further inspired me to start a career in medicine as a doctor. I know that along the way, I want to pursue every opportunity I can in college to research and learn, and I aspire to make a difference by doing so. Though life doesn't hand out such opportunities, I know that I can engage them through perseverance. While I was unable to research in high school, I know that I will in college, and hope to join a college where student research can find his place.

I have found enjoyment in almost every field of learning. While I certainly maintain more skill in certain subjects, I have found an appreciation for the uses and value of each one I've been exposed to. I have a special interest in biology, economics, and English.

Extracurriculars are extremely important to me, and I invite you to explore my involvement by using this website. I hope you enjoy seeing my passions and the way I've used them throughout my high school career.
